We are proud to announce that the International Society of Arboriculture is accepting applications for the Fran Ward Scholarship for Women.
This scholarship program provides $3,000 to female students from Pennsylvania or Delaware who are enrolled in a major, minor, option or program related to the practice of arboriculture and urban forestry at an accredited college or university.
Fran Ward founded the Pennsylvania and Delaware ISA Scholarship Fund in 1990 and remained Chairperson for many years. From the first fundraising cocktail party John and Fran Ward hosted in their home, the annual event grew into a large dinner dance held at Longwood Gardens. Over the years, dozens of students have been scholarship recipients.
“It seems like a miracle that there could be a scholarship program in my name,” says Fran. “I am very thankful.”
John and Fran Ward live in Bryn Mawr. They are active gardeners and are involved in various community projects.
