A Message From Jim Ward

May 03, 2024 by Jim Ward, ISA Certified Arborist PD-53

As we begin our 67th year in business, we have an eye on the future and are thinking of how to continue to improve our company. We have identified employee development and training as a key focus area in 2024. We will be working behind the scenes to conduct additional training workshops and seminars for our staff. While we plan for the future, we also think about the history of our company and the values that guide us.

John B. Ward will turn 92 this May. John spends time at his house in Bryn Mawr and uses his shop to complete various projects. Dad loves to talk trees and go down memory lane thinking about his favorite clients and their cherished trees. We think about his guiding principles often — perform great work and treat clients fairly.

We also celebrate our Mom, Fran. We are proud that the Fran Ward Women in Arboriculture Scholarship was established in 2013. These $5,000 Scholarships are awarded annually. We are seeing a tremendous increase in women becoming ISA Certified Arborists and joining our profession — and we think it is wonderful. Additional information can be found at www.treefund.org/scholarships/ward. Fran attended Holy Family College on a scholarship and was always looking for opportunities to help young women and men continue their education.

We are fortunate to have wonderful clients who appreciate and value trees in our community. Our company is dedicated to providing the latest tree preservation techniques and being experts in fine pruning ornamentals and large trees. It is an honor and privilege to care for your trees and we look forward to seeing you soon.
